How do I reserve my spot?
You will reserve your spot by filling out the payment form for the deposit. You can find that form at the bottom of the trip website or by clicking here
What is the deposit amount? Is it refundable?
The deposit is $517.50 USD/person. This is a nonrefundable and nontransferable deposit. The remaining balance is due by July 1, 2026.
Are flights included? Which airport should I fly into?
Flights are not included in the trip package. All guests should book their flights in and out of Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), as this is the designated airport for the group trip and where all included airport transfers will take place. Airport transfers will be provided on the official arrival and departure dates of October 14 and October 23.
Should I arrive early or stay after the trip?
You are welcome to arrive in Sri Lanka before October 14 or extend your stay beyond October 23 if you would like additional time to explore the destination. Please note that any extra hotel nights, transfers, or expenses outside of the official trip dates would be at your own expense.
The group program officially begins on October 14 and concludes on October 23. Airport transfers are only included on the official arrival and departure dates of October 14 and October 23.
You may arrive at any time on October 14, though I highly recommend arriving earlier in the day. This will give you time to rest and settle in after your travels before our excursions begin bright and early on October 15. Arriving earlier in the day is also strongly encouraged in case of unexpected flight delays or cancellations, as I would hate for you to miss any part of the itinerary. Dinner will also be included on the evening of October 14.
Can solo travelers join? What are the room options?
Absolutely! Solo travelers are more than welcome — group trips are actually a perfect opportunity to meet like-minded travelers and feel included from day one. All rooms are based on double occupancy, so if you're traveling without a companion, you can book as a solo traveler for an additional supplement of $960. Please note that roommate matching is not available.
What is the vibe of the trip? Is it beginner-friendly?
This is an immersive, experience-packed trip with daily excursions and plenty of movement as we explore different parts of Sri Lanka. While there will be moments of free time built in, this is not a slow or relaxing itinerary — come ready to make the most of every day! That said, it is absolutely beginner-friendly for international travelers. You'll have a guide and travel host with you throughout the entire trip, so you can explore with confidence knowing you're taken care of. Group size is limited, so spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is included in the trip package?
Your trip package includes 9 nights of accommodations, daily breakfast and dinners throughout the journey, and all sightseeing, excursions, and entrance fees listed in the itinerary. You will also enjoy comfortable transportation throughout Sri Lanka in a private air-conditioned vehicle, the services of an English-speaking chauffeur/guide for the duration of the trip, airport assistance and transfers on the official arrival and departure dates, and the support of a dedicated travel host throughout the experience. Packaged drinking water, hand sanitizers, and wet & dry tissues will be available in the vehicle each day, and all currently applicable taxes are included in your package price.
What extra expenses should I budget for?
In-destination expenses may include gratuities, personal purchases, laundry services, beverages outside of included meals, medical expenses, camera or video fees at certain monuments or attractions, and any optional activities or services not specifically listed in the trip inclusions. Travel insurance is also not included, though it is highly recommended.
What should I know about visiting Sri Lanka — weather, safety, visa, and what to pack?
Sri Lanka is a safe and welcoming destination for tourists, and you'll have a guide and travel host with you throughout the entire trip for added peace of mind. U.S. travelers will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before departure, which can be done online within 90 days prior to your trip. All travelers must have a passport that is valid at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival.
Since we'll be moving through different regions of the country, expect the weather to vary. Temperatures will be warm, ranging from the mid-to-upper 80s°F, with the possibility of tropical showers along the way. For temple and religious site visits, covered shoulders and knees are required, so having a light layer or scarf on hand is a must.
The local currency is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). Credit cards are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants, but it's a good idea to have cash on hand for markets, tuk-tuks, and smaller local spots.
As for vaccines, please consult your healthcare provider before the trip. Recommendations vary based on age, health history, and prior travel, so your doctor is the best resource for determining what's right for you.
Is travel insurance required? What insurance do you recommend?
Travel insurance is not required but is highly recommended. A good policy can cover unexpected illness or injury, missed connections, flight cancellations, lost baggage, and more. I personally recommend Tinleg or Allianz as reliable options, but ultimately it is your responsibility to choose a policy that best fits your needs — I am not an insurance agent.
